Creating a covid-free environment to build a healthier world

Celebrated on 7^th of April, the World Health Day aims to draw the worldwide attention to the global health. For World Health Day 2021, the WHO is highlighting a theme of “building a fairer, healthier world.”  Germiled, as a brand born in the pandemic, has never forgotten the social responsibility it should take on, and one of its principal mission is to safeguard public’s health and wellbeing by creating a covid-free environment. In response to WHO’s campaign, we have worked with the University of Burgos, one of most prestigious universities in micromicrons research, to demonstrate that our products are credible and effective to create a covid-free environment.

 

The product that we have chosen for this experiment is one of our latest products that we have exhibited at the HIP TRADE SHOW, GL-DUO D415PL30. It is a multipurpose product that contains 4*15W UV-C tubes for disinfection and a 30W panel Led for lighting. Thanks to its excellent sterilization function, GL-DUO D415PL30 is an excellent alternative for the traditional lighting products we have used in offices, hospitals, schools, banks, shopping centers and any other places.

 

In order to meet different customers’ needs on prices, we have applied distinct germicidal UV-C tubes on the product: tubes from our brand GERMILED and tubes from the brand Philips.

 

To demonstrate both tubes are efficient in eliminating virus, bacteria and fungi, we made our two products respectively installed on the left side of the ceiling and the right side of it.   Meanwhile, we placed some Petri dishes covered with Bacteria E. coli and others, covered with Bacteria L. mesenteroides on these spots:

The experiment has revealed that UVC radiation, regardless Germiled-based tubes or Philips-based tubes kill Bactria E. coli in 15 minutes in every corner of the petri dishes. To completely eliminate Bactria L. mesenteroides, it would take more time: between 15 and 30 minutes. Our study has discovered that in 15 minutes, L. mesenteroides grew on every corner of the petri dishes while in 30 minutes, it only appeared on some spots on Sample 5, at which there was certain degree of shadow, which might limit the effect of disinfection.

Now it is quite clear that our UVC lamps are effective in practical applications. In order to ensure safe use, we have incorporated a presence detector and a timer inside so that they prevent the activity of disinfection from the presence of humans. Besides, our products adhere to all the directives and standards regarding CE, ROHS and UNE0068.

The COVID-19 pandemic has hit all countries hard and has led to a dramatic loss of human life and presents an unprecedented challenge to the economy and the public health.
