On September 30, 2021, at the Foundation of the Caja de Burgos, the Confederation of Business Associations of Burgos (FAE) held the Award Ceremony for the four winning companies, which stand out from the competition FAE INNOVATION PRIZE 2021.
From Candelabro (The company that García Requejo and Germiled belong to), we are very proud to announce that in this contest, we were honourably awarded for the FAE INNOVATION PRIZE.
Born in 2011, with the aim of promoting innovation and technology in the companies of the Burgos province, FAE INNOVATION PRIZE is focused on rewarding business organizations that have implemented important innovative approaches in all its aspects: provision, process management, service, products, etc.
CANDELABRO, as a lighting & furniture design firm with almost 60 years of history in Hospitality and Contract, we participated in the event of FAE INNOVATION PRIZE with a project we developed in 2020.
Our original goal was to design a type of light that could prevent the spread of virus and keep the society safe amid the pandemic. That was how and why Germiled was born: to kill viruses and bacteria with effective UVC Light.
In this project, we applied two technologies in our design: Augmented Reality, a technology that allows clients to show their products in a real environment without the needs of being in-site, and GR TRANSFER, an I+D+I based Surface Treatment that gives anti-corrosion protection and aesthetical value. With these two innovations, we have created a product which is not only functionally good and appealing, but also able to provide a completely new experience for its users.
The implementation of innovative measures in UVC lighting products makes Candelabro successfully differentiate its business from its competitors in the world of disinfection & sterilization and list as one of the best interior designers in Spain. As its CEO Rebeca García said: “If there were no innovative companies or people who would have improved our lives, we could not have walked so far”.
