UV-C
It is the radiation located between 100 and 280 nm. This type of radiation is considered germicidal as it has the capacity to inactivate different types of microorganisms.
KEY APPLICATIONS
Ultraviolet radiation has different applications and has been widely used for many years.
The best-known applications of UV radiation are those related to beauty and cosmetics and germicide, which, unlike UV radiation, mainly uses UV-C radiation.
This type of radiation has been used for years for the inactivation of microorganisms, water disinfection and is also frequently used in air conditioning or air purification systems.
However, the use of UV-C radiation for the disinfection of spaces and surfaces is not so common because the use of this technique requires the absence of people who are in the space.
For the safe application of UV-C light as a disinfectant, Germiled has developed a series of motion-sensor luminaires that only operate in a room when it is empty, thus avoiding accidental exposure to UV-C light.

HEALTH AND CARE
UV-C technology is a very effective solution to quickly disinfect medical equipment in hospitals, eliminating all types of viruses and bacteria, which proliferate more easily in this type of space. The use of this technology is common in healthcare centers, especially hospitals and their units and services where patients are more vulnerable, such as operating rooms, ICUs or even rooms intended or programmed for patient isolation. It should be taken into account that every person who accesses the facilities of a healthcare system is susceptible to being colonized or infected by a microorganism, whether resistant, multi resistant or not, with the risks that this entails.

In many sectors, telecommuting can be a solution, but only temporarily. UV-C radiation plays an important role in the workplace. In addition to disinfecting surfaces, disinfection lamps are vital in offices to prevent the transmission of diseases through air conditioning systems.
PUBLIC SPACES
The risk of infection is especially high in places where many people gather. During the course of the pandemic, UV-C lamps can and will continue to be used wherever needed to prevent spread. For example: on airplanes, disinfecting the air regularly reduces the risk of infection.
