The most frequently questions about our germicidal lamps. Part 2

  • What are the possible health effects of Germiled lamps?
  • Accidental exposure may cause adverse damage to eye and skin tissues. However, thanks to the presence sensor, our lamps are exempt in daily use from any accidental exposure to UV-C light. This is what makes them safe compared to other similar disinfection methods.

  • Do Germiled lamps emit ozone?
  • No, the Germiled models have a filter that prevents the emission of UV radiation below 200 nm and thus prevents the formation of ozone (185 nm).

  • What certificates do the Germiled lamps have?
  • Our products are CE (Conformité Européenne) certified, complying with the permit of free circulation and validity within the European Economic Area, as well as RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), which guarantees the restriction of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. In addition, Germiled lamps comply with the recommended standards of the Spanish standardization association, UNE 00068:2020.

  • Where can I use Germiled?
  • The application sites for Germiled are innumerable. Germiled is effective wherever disinfection is needed. However, these are some of the most common places of application: laboratories, hospitals, health centers, stores, offices, schools, universities, gyms, hotels, bars and restaurants, supermarkets and places of worship.

  • How does UV-C light affect material surfaces?
  • The extended exposure to ultraviolet C light can damage certain materials, but it depends on the resistance of each one, just like with solar exposure. The most affected ones are some types of plastics, which present yellowing of the surface; but today there are different alternatives to prevent it and achieve resistance to UV radiation, among them UV stabilizers, surface coatings and the most effective and economical, the black dye. However, Germiled equipment is still a great tool for disinfection, especially on surfaces that do not allow treatment by chemical methods, protecting materials from short-term deterioration caused by chemical components.
  • What models and sizes of germicidal lamps can I find?

  • With the aim of achieving prevention in homes, offices and small businesses, we have upgraded the industrial UV-C lamp models to smaller, easier-to-handle sizes. We currently market 3 sizes of Germiled lamps and each of them has a wide variety of models. In addition, our lamps have the possibility of customization.
