The answer is No. We should understand there are different ultraviolet types.
UV-A: (400-315 nanometers)
UV-B: (315-280 nanometers)
UV-C: (280-100 nanometers)
Only UV-C is used to eliminate virus, bacteria etc.
-DO ALL ULTRAVIOLET RAYS HAVE THE SAME EFFICACY OF DISINFECTION?
The answer is No. Only UV-C ray has an excellent germicidal effect. Especially when it comes to the UV-C radiation that has a wavelength between 255nm to 270nm.
Currently the quartz-made tube, on which there is an ozone filter placed, precisely allows UV-C radiation passes through to sterilize the air and surfaces effectively.
-DO ALL UV-C LAMPS SOLD AT MARKETS HAVE THE SAME GERMICIDAL EFFECT?
The answer is no. It should be taken into consideration that quartz-made tube has a performance of approximately 30% in terms of UV-C radiation, corresponding to its power.
However, ordinary LED, for the moment, only represents a performance of 3% although more investigations in regards to the improvement of this technology is underway. We hope in the sooner future, it could perform better.
